This sounds rather like a dtv_multiplex problem again.  Have a look at

https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/10217

and maybe comment 15 in particular.  I'm not clear why you can't use 
mythtvsetup; it works for me, but of course I don't have your hardware.
