A simple thing to do is to check the lists at both
DirectTV (for their Genie supported TVs which DirectTV
use DTCP-IP) and the RVU alliance site (RVU uses
DTCP-IP as transport). And then test, test, and of
course, be sure to test (some of the information may
not be entirely correct, what with firmware updates
and real world incompatibilities).
While everyone's experience and desires are slightly
different, on TWC the simple answer for a MythTV
system that can record anything more than the locals
is the TWC STB and a HDPVR (gen 1).
