   One of the devs actually said that what this guy is doing is "anti-social"
and needs to be actively prevented. I say that kind of rhetoric warrants 
"assuming the worst".

   There are a lot of things that become quick and easy to code up for yourself
once you are dealing with a Unix style toolchain and a lot more bothersome when
you have to modify someone else's application.
