I don't know that this is the problem, in reviewing the wiki link it looks
like I may need to change where in icons were downloaded...

The icons were downloaded to the ~/.mythtv/channels directory of the user I
ran the mfdb script as (same as the one I run mythfrontend from) but they
need to go in that location for the user that runs mythbackened, which is a
system account, mythtv. So the home directory for that user is
/var/lib/mythtv... but that didn't seem to work.

The systemd service file sets MYTHCONFDIR to /etc/mythtv, perhaps I should
try there...
