wait.   You have symbolic links in /var/lib/mythtv/recordings?  Are you
doing that outside of MythTV?  Don't.

Mythlink.pl looks up the file name in the database and links to it.  It can
handle multiple recording groups. There's no need to specify a source
directory...unless you are moving files around. Don't do that.  Use bind
mounts if you have diskspace problems, or even better, use a recording
group to put the recordings in /home/mythtv/recordings.
