on a amd vdpau system, watching live 720p mpeg-2 it will play fine, however
changing the channel to another mpeg2 720p channel will cause the frame
rate to be 30 fps (slow motion). exiting out of live tv then going back in
fixes the problem. This problem does not occur when you switch to mpeg-2
1080i.

I am running ubuntu 14.04 with the open source drivers.

There is also all sorts of opengl issue when the frame rate is halfed (ie
the pop up don't display correctly, or sometimes they don't display)

here is the error message

2014-05-18 16:03:59.081197 I Player(b): Video is 10.6744 frames ahead of
audio,
doubling video frame interval to slow down.
2014-05-18 16:03:59.114462 I Player(b): Video is 10.8848 frames ahead of
audio,
doubling video frame interval to slow down.
etc...

this error does not occur when switching h264 720p to mpeg2 720p or the
other way around

if you want I can provide more of the log file
