If you are compiling from source, doing a git bisect would be a great help.

There aren't that many differences between fixes/0.27 and
devel/027candidates (88 commits), so you should find the culprit in
less than 6 run...

sounds like a deadlock somewhere....

from your log, the recordings is recording just fine, albeit very
slowly 1.5MB in 4s... not sure the quality of the video output, but it
can't be that high...
