A good question... with a couple of answers:

1. It was a first gen single core ION and it was slow. Sure it could
play most video okay, but navigating menus and anything that needed
some CPU grunt was noticeably laggy.
2. It had started rebooting randomly. I had replaced the memory once
and I suspected the motherboard.
