There’s a lot of code[1] that processes EIT data to pull out things like programme subtitles and release years (for films) from the description.

Rarely, MythTV gets it wrong and I end up with part of the description in the subtitle field (this happens slightly more often with films, where the subtitle might end up as “(2001) Dark Ages adventure”), or a long subtitle (such as “El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Our Homer)”) will get missed. Subtitles with a full stop in them (“Marge vs. Singles, Seniors, Childless Couples and Teens, and Gays“, for example) tend to get truncated.

I’m not sure what’s happening for you though—your subtitles contain several sentences, so maybe the eitfixup code for German data does something different to the UK code.
