Indeed.  Standing on the shoulders of giants as it were.

Indeed.  I would love that also.  I have suggested many times to them
that they ought to have a "mythbuntu-stb" package or something that
customizes a Mythbuntu installation to work like an STB but I don't
think that's gone much of anywhere.  Likely I owe them that contribution
given the use I have had from it but TBH, I have never felt warm enough
reception to the suggestion that it would amount to anything if I did
contribute.  Maybe things have changed.

Indeed.  There really should be no (other than mythfrontend) windows to
manage.  IMHO.  As I had said, the dev team will disagree with you and
using no window manager is outside of the "supported configuration" box.

Indeed.  It needs a custom init script for the frontend that just starts
X and mythfrontend.
