Well, obviously, you'd use the remote that came with the STB. You'd use your IR 
receiver to record the keypresses you make with the remote. That way you know it 
should work the exact same. You don't need to know the IR codes, you just press 
the keys and record whatever happens. Once you have those mythtv (via LIRC) can 
issue those when it wants to change channel or do anything else.
