Perhaps.  But the issues are what Matt and Brian (developers
for the project) said at the recent LinuxCon.  I guess if we
are not to believe the devs for a project things can go sideways.

That, of course, does not mean ZFS on Linux is not good.  It
is.  But it has certain limitations having a different license, and
not having access to GPL only symbols, and the layering model
being difference.
