+1 for either defaulting to syslog or at least making it easy to use
syslog without having to hack init scripts :).
As far as rotating, if somebody doesn't have syslog configured to dump
myth messages someplace in particular, they'll just go to
/var/log/messages, which is automatically rotated by the default
logrotate config. And if they want to customize their syslog config to
separate myth messages, they can easily customize their logrotate config
at the same time.
