Is that for recordings or videos ?

For recordings:
Searching for a particular metadata is something at worse you only
have to do once for that series.
Edit the metadata's recording schedule , enter the TVDB inetref

next recording will pick up the proper data.

If it's videos you acquired hmmm... through different means. You can
always modify the title before adding the files. Seeing that you have
to add the files regardless, changing the title is a tiny extra step
