no no it's not like that...

It first search for a movie with a matching title, couldn't find anything
then a search for a TV series with a matching title, and can't find
anything (the ttvdb.py script doesn't always return data when you
search with just a title, but will do if you also specify a season /
episode).
There are TV shows with no matching name and season until say season
16 (I found one yesterday like that)

So it's only once the search has failed to find anything that there is
a one last attempt at finding something by forcing the season number

it wouldn't help

because if you search with a season that didn't exist, it would return nothing.
season 1 at least give you a chance of finding something
