I did not see any obvious SQL errors, but I shut down the backend and ran
the optimize_mythdb.pl script anyway. The result was the same afterwards as
it was before. I did, however, see an unusual message "GetPlaybackURL:
'1022_20140121190000.mpg' should be local, but it can not be found" in the
backend log [1].

I also started the frontend with 'mythfrontend -v database --loglevel
debug' as suggested and captured its output [2]. This has some other
messages that might hint at the problem, including
"RemoteGetRecordingList() list size appears to be incorrect" and
"PlaybackBox: SortedList is Empty"
