Technically, not a real answer.  I am not a MythTV dev.
I am sure they reserve the right to revise and extend
these remarks :-).  I am only responding with what I have
observed, and looked into.  I seem to recall (from a few
years ago, actually), there was discussion between the
devs on irc regarding MyISAM vs InnoDB.  And there
have been discussions (for even longer?) regarding the
desire to use an embedded DB.  I presume it is all in
the archives somewhere.
