No, I'll tell you what I was being... I was being *nice* and giving you
the benefit of the doubt that you were using an illegal grabber out of
ignorance, rather than because you don't care to play by the rules or
because you're too cheap to pay for the service (but unwilling to do
without the service so you don't have to pay for it) or you're just
plain evil or something. So, you're right I was being presumptuous. I
presumed you were a stand-up person. It seems I had no right to give
you the benefit of the doubt since--now that you're no longer
ignorant--you not only seem to plan to keep stealing the service, but
are also now lying about it.

The "xmltvid" column (which contains the TMS station ID) you quoted from
your own database (and now publicly and permanently archived at, among
other locations,
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/563321#563321 ) shows
you're using the
Microsoft-licensed-for-use-only-in-WMC-with-only-Microsoft-software data
source. And now you're saying we were being presumptuous about how you
make your xmltv file, which must mean you're not using *the
service-theiving* mc2xml grabber, so now I must presume you've made your
own service-thieving grabber.

If you're going to keep stealing listings data, go somewhere else to get
help with MythTV. In stealing listings data, you're hurting the entire
MythTV community--the people who are paying to get licensed listings
data so that Schedules Direct will be able to keep licensing the data so
that we can keep using MythTV. People who steal the service aren't
contributing their fair share of the licensing cost (and are why the
cost of Schedules Direct has been raised from $20/yr to $25/yr--but
still /significantly/ less than the $10/mo cable-/satellite-/tivo-DVR
users pay for it). If there aren't enough members of Schedules Direct
to license the listings data from TMS, MythTV is likely to lose the only
source of listings data for North America--meaning MythTV could become
completely useless (or, at best, barely functional) in North America.

Or maybe you should be using Windows Media Center (since you seem to
think you have a license for WMC) instead of MythTV. If you do (have a
license and use WMC), then you won't be stealing the service.

And as for the triple post to the list of your smarmy I'm-not-stealing
post, is that what they mean by, "Methinks thou dost protest too much"?
