And you are correct, it's a bit of a faff to get it set up the first time - and update it every time a channel comes or goes. Once you have something set up, it does make like a lot easier.

Still could be worse, I've yet to tune a TV or STB that has an option to keep your existing channel numbering while rescanning. And some of the UIs for renumbering channels are "interesting" to use - with the Chinese curse use of the word !
