Thanks Tom and Greg,

My attempts to solicit assistance from linux at cetoncorp.com still await a
response.  However, another hour-long, extremely patient conversation
with Charter resulted in a validated and authenticated setup.  Things
are working as expected.  I am a lot wiser about internals.
