That's probably the ideal option for this sort of two market
situation, but for the amount I use it there's no way it's worth the
effort or money...especially since I'd need a second roof mounted
antenna.

I think my only reliable approach for these one-off single record NFL
games is in fact to temporarily mark the channel(s) as visible...which
really isn't much extra effort.  There's also no way that will cause
issues with any other scheduling by mistake, because I use the "this
channel" filter on any schedules where that could ever happen.
