Ugh. I do in fact have two different input ports of the TV plugged into the
computer. One is the HDMI output used for mythfrontend, and the other is a
VGA input used for anything else (terminal window, web browser, etc.). So I
tried disabling the VGA output using nvidia-settings, and that does fix the
Myth playback issue. Unfortunate, because trying to do these other things
on the HD display really doesn't work very well (the text is too blurry to
read, whereas the lower res VGA display works well for this).
Is this really the only fix for this problem?
