Daryl has previously advised that the upgrade fails. He hasn't given us a lot to go on but previously posted:

and IIRC that system won't start on reboot (Daryl is probably not familiar with the TTY consoles either).

Running update in terminal would be a great idea in the first instance, so can get an actual idea of what is happening.

But I suspect that Daryl will need detailed instructions to be able to navigate around the error whatever it is, so for WAF (or equivalent) would be best to have ability to quickly / easily get back to fully functioning MythTV system while he seeks assistance.

Although there may not be an upgrade error if the upgrade is run from TTY console. But I would rather play it ultra-safe.
