Also be aware that hackers etc. mostly are not interested in your
data. They want to gain access to either install a listener to get
your personal and financial data or to link your machine into a botnet
for illegal actions like spamming or big scale attacks on tastier
targets.
So they won't steal your disk, they want access to use the machine!
And even if that kind of personal data doesn't come through that
machine, they will be inside your network and can easily compromise
the other machines or your wifi enabled mobiles etc.
