[mythtv-users] getting to the GRUB in time...

THANK YOU JOHN MARSHALL!!! 

Holding down the shift key AND tapping the ESC key at the same time made for one more step of progress.  

Unfortunately, I didn't make much progress past that point. 
I'll have to try again at a later time and/or date.
