Must agree, there are some oddities with Mythbuntu, as it is specifically
for the purpose of watching TV with MythTV.

The issue you describe of course, but also things like the screensaver
being enabled by default, error reporting pop-ups, Update Manager pop-ups.

All can be disabled of course, not sure about your issue, not something
that has caused me any issues I don't think.
