~/.mythtv/themes for your custom themes and themes downloaded using
mythfrontend's theme chooser. Themes bundled with MythTV are stored
somewhere in the installation directory.

Yes and yes. After copying it, edit themeinfo.xml to change the name
so you'll recognize it in the theme chooser.
