Alright, it is not fixed. I can log into backend mysql from frontend as
mythtv and as my user. Yet, frontend gives me:

Could not connect to server 192.168.2.6:6543

Scratching my head. I attached a monitor to my headless BE and ran
mythfrontend - success ...
Why local FE can connect and remote FE cannot?
