When I tried to build the rpm it needed pages of dependencies, whereas the git version built without any issues.
Methinks that having someone else's asinine ideas eg mythtv user is umm daft. eg uber secret database password to prevent my wife hacking mythtv.

So I guess I'll make an rpm spec that does no fooling around.
