[mythtv-users] Live TV Guide Stutter

I've  been suffering the same WAF impact and have been looking at the same
thing.  The problem seems to me to be that the guide requests data from the
backend with each press, either some program info or times if you've
scrolled beyond the range of the visible guide.  I need to get my boxes
upgraded (0.25-fixes at the moment) but was planning on hacking on the code
once that's done.

The relevant code is in mythfrontend/guidegrid.cpp and my plan was to get
it to transfer the whole EPG in one go and navigate around that, or at
least to the end of the current 24 hour period so that loading only happens
if you move around a lot - I wouldn't expect use of the guide during live
TV to be looking 24 hours ahead very often.
