When i run " tail -f /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log" it shows me that
the scheduled recording failed.

And when I run " cat /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log" I see:

Above are all the lines with the "E" in them the other lines have "I,
N, or C". Since inadvertently starting my backend twice, repeatedly,
none of my scheduled recordings have had any files, if the box is on I
get an empty recording that can't be viewed.
Running the "check_stb" from the terminal does turn on the STB.
 What should I do next?

Daryl
