Perhaps in answer to your original question: this could be covered by 
Ticket #10535, parts of which related to burning real DVDs, which was 
closed as fixed in Master 3 weeks ago. I haven't tried it, but if not 
too much else has changed you may be able patch mythburn.py without a 
rebuild.
