[mythtv-users] Analog side of HVR-1950 Tuner not working

I've had my Hauppauge HVR-1950 USB tuner working in the past with mythtv (both Digital and Analog), but am not getting it to work with on my new install from the 12.04 Mythbuntu ISO . 

Findings: 
Channel scanning only works on digital side 
No channels found on analog side . 
Created channels 4,8,and 13 manually 
VLC in PVR capture mode played video from my cable provider (channel 8) a couple times on its own. Did not choose channel. However, it only plays static at time of this message. 
cat /dev/video0 >> output.mpg produces a file.
