Got the EXACT SAME results with the sudu part in front this time, i.e.:
sudo echo options saa7164 adapter_nr=6,7 > /etc/modprobe.d/hvr2250.conf
Also, when I got to the machine today, the graphical interface was stuck on a "blue screen of death" that I've written about before.
I've now restarted the machine, and will re-do the channel setup.
