Unfortunately, except for a very small contribution on my part (the most 
plausible explanation of where the "garbage" at the end), the efforts 
and analysis were not mine but Stuart's.

I posted it here in his place because I do believe he does not subscribe 
to this list (he subscribes to all the others except this one).
