To follow-up on my own posting, after having added an actual TV program
to the Video Library -- I had only ever added Movies or other non-TV
material...

I think I still find the Watch recordings interface nicer.

"mythutil --scanvideos" is better than having to tell the family to scan
for changes but it's still not as nice as having it happen
automagically, by, say, putting an inotify on the videos folders.

I suppose the SxE indicators are a suitable replacement for this.

Even "mythutil --scanvideos" doesn't seem to be finding metadata for
files in the "Movies" section of the Video Library.

This is still an issue of course.

So, I did find Menu->Browse By->Date Added. Having to switch that
through the menu is more cumbersome than Watch Recordings I think.

I guess "mythutil --scan" is it, if the file is named well enough for
the metadata grabber to decipher it.
