I would guess you have a fair number of channels,
and this sounds suspiciously like the known "feature"
with many distro's php defaults, where the value
of "max_input_vars" needs to be increased for
php to be able to receive a large number of vars
(such as you get with larger channel lists).  The
location of your php.ini file may vary.
