This has come up maybe a half-dozen times over the years.  Here's really
where things stand, read this reply from one of the core devs from a few
years ago: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/415948#415948

It's not entirely trivial, but it's a feature that would be considered for
inclusion if someone wanted to dedicated the time to writing the
functionaility, but don't expect any devs to do the heavy lifting, many of
them have indicated it's not a feature they personally are interested in.
