Well, from looking into payment processing (for a friend)
that was looking to accept out of US payments, I did
find that the "foreign transaction" fees a bit high. Now,
while the UK may not be a hot bed of illicit financial
behavior (well, except maybe for the Libor issue, but that
was institutional, so penalties are slaps on the wrist, and
then maybe the Euribor issue, but that is also institutional,
so it also does not count), the payment processors do
tend to add on quite a fee for the small businesses (if you
are Apple, you can solve the problem by making all
the transactions end up in Ireland, and never pay taxes).
I guess the answer is that everyone should move to
England to do any technology related work. How much
available land is there in the greater London area again?
