Yea... 8MB is woefully small. I just launched emacs and see it is
consuming 32MB resident set with 660MB of VSS. Actually opening a tiny
text file increased that to 37MB and 968MB of VSS. Same file opened in
vim, 4920KB of resident set and 148M of VSS. gvim only consumes
16MB/519MB.
