[mythtv-users] Mythbuntu 12.04.1 Hauppauge IR receive woes

Hi folks,

I've recently upgraded to Mythbuntu 12.04.1 due to needing to get an
HDHomerun Prime to deal with Comcast's upgrade to digital cable.

Everything seems to be going smoothly about 2 months in, but I find myself
increasingly aggravated with the remote control situation.

I have completed removed LIRC, since it seems to be deprecated. I have
mapped the keystrokes that I need from my old gray hauppauge remote. But I
get bad repeat button presses when I push the same button too quickly on
the remote. So if I push down twice too quickly, then the selection will
move down four or five times.

This evening, I even removed all the ir kernel modules except ir_kbd_i2c,
to no avail. I'm really at a loss. My mother-in-law is visiting right now,
and I'm embarrassed to have to explain why the TV is so damn finicky.
