I realize this is not a myth specific issue but I was hoping to get some
assistance from the list.

I have a SPDIF optical output on my gigabyte motherboard that was
working for months and then just stopped working a few weeks ago after
acting strangely for a few days (choppy audio). I switched back to the
analog audio until I could get another sound card.

I purchased a new sound card and it installed and is recognized but when
I select it in myth I do not get any sound. I am running Fedora 18 on
the combo backend / frontend on the computer I am talking about.

Here is my sound card options:
[root at mythtv2 ~]# aplay -l
