It looks as if the default was 5000000; putting it up to 100 000 000 
gives the same result but says:

[dvbsub @ 0x1cbfe00] Invalid extradata, subtitle streams may be combined!
[mpegts @ 0x1cbb260] Stream #4: not enough frames to estimate rate; 
consider increasing probesize 

[mpegts @ 0x1cbb260] Stream #5: not enough frames to estimate rate; 
consider increasing probesize
[mpegts @ 0x1cbb260] Stream #6: not enough frames to estimate rate; 
consider increasing probesize
[mpegts @ 0x1cbb260] Could not find codec parameters (Video: mpeg2video)

-analyzeduration is recognised; -probesize, -max_analyse_duration 
aren't.  I'm not getting much help from man ffmpeg.
