[mythtv-users] mythtv-setup.real hangs at startup Ubuntu 12.10

I don't think I have ever been able to run mythtv-setup without it 
hanging when it runs:

    xterm -title "MythTV Setup Terminal" -e taskset -c 0 
/usr/bin/mythtv-setup.real --syslog local7 "$@"

It seems it particularly hates running in an XTerm, but fairly 
frequently I have to try multiple times before it works when running it as:

    taskset -c 0 /usr/bin/mythtv-setup.real --syslog local7 "$@"

And I have to try multiple times. This is my first serious attempt at 
trying to resolve the issue. When it hangs I don't see anything in 
/var/log/mythtv/mythv-setup.log from that run.

I have not tried switching desktops. I apply updates frequently. I just 
applied the latest and rebooted.
