[mythtv-users] android playback without HLS?

I have an Android tablet here. I want to play recordings from my MythTV
system on the Android tablet, but given the bandwidth around here, HLS
(i.e. transcoding) is really not necessary. My tablet plays the MPEG2
files on the BE just fine natively.

Am I SOL?

Cheers,
b.

P.S. I just tried the MythTV Android Frondend from Daniel Frey once
again and it still seems to NPE quite easily. :-( Not that I have even
gotten anything to even play. It brings up programs but when I choose
one, nothing happens. I do have MX Player installed.

Mythbackend is 2:0.25.3+fixes.20121124.76d9c3e-0ubuntu0mythbuntu3
