thanks for the reply.

eeek - well I was hoping to use vdpau! Sounds like that would be buying 
a whole lot of heartache.... There is also an L70 which uses AMD radion. 
Does anyone have any positive experiences with that as a FE or am I 
better off getting a second hand 3700

That'll teach me to try to get my Ebuyer order over the threshold for 
free delivery by accidentally buying new hardware :)
