There are many free to air sat services, we have one in NZ called Freeview.
There is FreeSAT in the UK plus there are services from other Euro
satellites.

I don't know about the US, but I doubt you will get any European satellites
that you can receive in mainland USA.

There are plenty of Sat tracking and info web sites out there.
