[mythtv-users] Repeating previously recorded...

I am using Schedules Direct and here are some more details on my settings:

Auto-Expire method = Oldest show first
Re-record watched is not checked
Automatically mark a recording as watch is not checked

I usually let auto-expire cleanup shows, but if I do delete them manually I
never choose the "Delete and rerecord" option

Will "New episodes only" only record brand new showings? I want to catch
certain TV shows like pilots if they aired today or 50 years ago, I just
don't want to record the same tv pilot twice. I thought "new episodes
only" would only record shows if the original air date was the same as the
current date. I tried to search the forums to get clarity on this but
couldn't tell...

I never watch shows on my MythTV. I have 3 tuners recording 24x7 based on
a number of rules that grab TV shows and Movies. I automatically copy
these shows off the MythTV and process them on a Windows PC for later
viewing and let auto-expire delete them off MythTV when it needs room.

Once I've recorded a movie or TV show I don't want to ever record it again.
Considering I grab anywhere from 50-70 recordings a day, that I'm only
getting 2-3 repeats is pretty good but I'd rather have it be perfect.

When I look in the database, the Program IDs of the repeat shows are 100%
identical. Only difference is the starttime, endtime and duplicate fields
for the two entries. "starttime" and "endtime" makes sense because they
were recorded on different dates by the tuner. The older entry in the
duplicate field is a "0" and the newer recorded entry is a "1" in the
duplicate field.
