Thanks. That looks promising, but where is this script supposed to go
so that mythtv can use it? It seems that there should be some script
to do this in the default distribution, in response to menu->job options
->begin transcoding->low quality, but find / -name transcode_low.py
returns nothing. Is there some place where the code for these job
options reside? There doesn't seem to be a proper place in
/usr/share/mythtv/*, /usr/lib/mythtv is for *.so libraries and
/etc/mythtv has the expected config files. Or is this transcoding
done from executable code that calls mythffmpeg directly?

The setup: Myth 0.26.1+fixes20 from deb-multimedia on Debian wheezy.
I also have myth-transcode of the same version installed. Probably
a package dependency.

Also, please please please! How do I disable mythfilldatabase? It keeps
trying to contact schedules direct and getting errors, of course. I
have set "use EIT only" in the relevant config menu, but that is
obviously not sufficient.

Thanks, and sorry for being such a mythtv ignoramus, but I'm learning...

Augustine
