Subject: [mythtv-users] change or reset configuration directory

I've been redoing my mythtv setup from scratch.

However at some point I must have done the wrong thing because I have ended up with the 'configuration directory' being my desktop users .mythtv directory not my mythtv users .mythtv directory. When I run mythfrontend as the mythtv user it can't generate the metadata files because the permissions are wrong.

Where can I alter the configuration directory?

Bonus points for answering my own question: "export HOME=/home/mythtv".

I will need to read through here more to understand better the detail of loading the frontend, with mythbuntu I never had to worry about it. http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Frontend_Loading_Script

Interestingly it does not appear to have fixed my problem but does move troubleshooting on to the next thing.
